This was really great if you missed it.

This stuff needs to be discussed.
I was raised in a very strict, you DO NOT fuck with other people’s mail (snail mail, folks) EVER culture. Not your mom’s, not your younger brother’s, not nobody. Shit, we didn’t even destroy mailboxes for fun as kids, so scared were we of the consequences.
Also, Beware The Man. Any idiot can see that the government is powers-of-10 more likely to fuck with them than are the whistleblowers and the consequences of their blowing.

I only need to see (or even read about) a journalist interviewing a conservative anti-gay rights person, who inevitably brings up the “the traditional marriage, redefining marriage, ‘Biblical'” position to ask the bigot what marriage was like, say, as little as 400 years ago, when in fact it was pretty much a straight-up property arrangement, just one fucking time to be reasonably satisfied.
Just once. “What about when marriage was strictly a property transfer, have not we redefined marriage since then?” So I just turn off the TV every time one of our so-called journalists fails to ask the question.
Money quote, from those liberals at Wikipedia:
Historically, in most cultures, married women had very few rights of their own, being considered, along with the family’s children, the property of the husband; as such, they could not own or inherit property, or represent themselves legally (see for example coverture). In Europe, the United States, and a few other places, from the late 19th century throughout the 20th century, marriage has undergone gradual legal changes, aimed at improving the rights of women. These changes included giving wives a legal identity of their own, abolishing the right of husbands to physically discipline their wives, giving wives property rights, liberalizing divorce laws, and requiring a wife’s consent when sexual relations occur. Many of these changes, however, remain restricted to Western countries.
It’s fun to watch the conservatives scream about something they’re completely ignorant about, apparently. Or perhaps they yearn for those days…

A sitting AZ Senator’s son gets caught being a kid, and unwittingly exposes all of us to at least a glimpse into the boy’s childhood, and the parents’ influence.
