Cokie Roberts, a woman I once considered sane. (Hey, it was a LONG time ago!)

Wow. Read Heywood J.’s link if you don’t get the reference.

In said link Cokie is actually beyond stupid, all the way into some sort of freakish disconnect from reality usually reserved for the commenters and posters who think K.J. Lopez has anything of value to say. Metaphysically fucking spectacularly stupid.

When the going gets weird, the weird have always been pros, to paraphrase.

TBogg, who just lost a dog he and the family loved with all their hearts which is not a small deal to get over if you’re a normal human being, sucks it up and comments in a funny way, given that he had the “elitism” to allow his daughter, the lovely and talented Casey, to go to the foreign land Cokie calls Hawaii. For college! On a scholarship!

TBogg is obviously some weird rich dude Islamofacsist sympathizer. Elitist to the core of his being.

Honest to FSM, I have little left to live for, expectation-wise. We, the country that elected George W. Bush the second time, (hey, anyone can make a mistake) are just beyond redemption as far as I can tell in any objective way.

We’ve been dumbed down to the point of no return.

Update: It gets better. Cokie responds:

“I know his grandmother lives in Hawaii and I know Hawaii is a state, but it has the look of him going off to some sort of foreign, exotic place. He should be at Myrtle Beach and if he’s going to take a vacation at this time. I just think this is not the time to do that.”- Cokie Roberts

Uh, Cokie, we know you know Hawaii is a state, and that his grandmother lives there. I even suspect you were commenting on the political “optics” of Obama’s trip.

The point, my dear, is that anyone who thinks Obama taking a vacation in Hawaii to visit his grandmother “looks bad” to the point of altering even their opinion of the man, much less their vote, is a FUCKING MORON. And it’s maybe part of your job to say that. More politely, of course. You’re the media. Some morons actually pay attention to what you say.
