Resigned, as in the job sense, and I would think the emotional sense, after what the poor women went through.  I was a big supporter of Edwards, until he didn’t come out and say, “I’m not going to let some religious wackjob determine who I hire to help with my campaign.  We all disagree about certain things.  It doesn’t matter.  America was founded on the principle that being offended was not enough.  I like to call that principle, ‘free speech.’  Bill Donohue has said many equally inflammatory things.  Look it up, and get off me.  These are the same kind of people who blew up the World Trade Center.”

Or something like that.  And THAT would’ve kept ol’ John in the news.  Which is good politics.

In any case, I really think one of those doomed Edwards hires/bloggers, Amanda at Pandagon, is terrific, and this has been the case since long before the Edwards campaign was smart enough to hire her, and too weak and politically correct (yeah, left, that’s on YOU) to take the fuss over her personal opinions to the next level and throw down.  Hey, John, if you can’t handle a lunatic American, how you gonna do with a foreign lunatic?

Here she is on tax policy.  And this is why I love her.  Read and weep.

Update:  One other thing.  By all means let’s do everything we can to discourage these youngsters from getting involved in the political process!

Irony is SO dead, we may as well take it out of the dictionary.
